Molly Robertson — GRC volleyball
Senior Molly Robertson showed extreme leadership when her team’s back was against the wall. She helped bring George Rogers Clark back when they were all but out in two sets against Harrison County.
Question: What’s your favorite part about volleyball? Robertson: My favorite part about volleyball is that it provides me with an escape from the pressures of regular life and it gives me time with my favorite people.
Q: Did you set any personal goals before the season? R: My personal goal for this season is being an all-region player. I like to set high goals for myself because even if I don’t achieve that goal I still made big improvements as a player.
Q: Do you have any athletes you try to model your game after? R: I don’t really have athletes I model my game after. I’ll see someone (a middle schooler or an Olympic player) do something really awesome and I just think to myself that I want my play to look like that, and practice it.
Q: What’s your favorite memory playing volleyball? R: My favorite volleyball memory was winning districts last year as the underdogs on Montgomery County’s home court.
Q: Who has had the most influence on your volleyball career? R: My teammates and Coach Bryson the last two years have probably had the most influence on my volleyball career. Coach B improves my fundamentals and skills while my teammates improve my mentality and leadership ability.
Q: Did you set any team goals before the season? B: Winning districts and placing in region would be really nice this year, but my other goal for this team would be to have a positive mindset, win or lose, and to play with heart and as a family.
