The LLL Club met Aug. 20 at Central Baptist Church for the monthly meeting and potluck lunch.

President David Hoffman called the meeting to order and gave the opening prayer.

Bob Quick led the group in singing accompanied by Peggy Snowden on the piano.

The devotion was given by Pat Gibbs. She told a story about kinds and how it effects others.

Guest speaker Robert Gayheart gave a testimony about his battle with cancer. While going through this valley, he has been able to witness to others and bring them to Christ. He said we need to be more obedient to God’s present and lift up the name of Jesus. His passage of scripture came from James 1.

The minutes were read by Carolyn Steagall and treasurer’s report given by Phyllis Henderson.

The next meeting will be Sept. 17.

The prayer list was read and Dr. Bill Snowden gave the closing prayer and table blessing.
