Beech Springs Farm Market will host its 14th annual scarecrow festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Assistant Manager Bailey Milheiser said the festival features an auction of scarecrows decorated and donated by various businesses and organizations from across the county, and proceeds from the auction benefit the STRIDE program. The scarecrow auction begins at 1 p.m.

Milheiser said people are welcome to come up and see the scarecrows ahead of time as they will be on display until the auction.

More than 20 scarecrows have been entered for this year’s festival.

Admission is $5 per family, and festival goers can enjoy live music, face painting, balloon animals, inflatables, Halloween bingo and more throughout the day. Admission also includes a hot dog lunch.

“Price can’t get any better,” Milheiser said of why people should come out Saturday. “It’s a cheap, fun family event. I think the weather will be perfect, so just basically to support small local businesses plus two different organizations benefiting.”

Donkeys and an alpaca will be on site as well.

Milheiser said the proceeds from the gate fee benefit 4-H; 4-H volunteers will attend to the games Saturday as well.
