Man pleads guilty to child endangerment

A Winchester resident pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment for an incident involving a 4-year-old boy.

Jonathan Martin, 32, was arrested in September 2018 for first-degree sodomy for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with the child.

According to court documents, Martin admitted to the incident when interviewed by police in 2018.

On Thursday, Martin pleaded guilty in Clark Circuit Court to the amended charge of first-degree wanton endangerment. Prosecutors recommended a one-year prison sentence, which is the minimum.

The original charge carries a sentence of 10 to 20 years upon conviction.

Martin’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 14.
