Nov. 18, 1969

— A strike by approximately 450 hourly production employees at the Bundy Tubing Co. here was short-lived as workers began returning to work this week. The walkout was reportedly over the termination of an employee.

— Circling the moon in perfect orbit, Apollo 12’s explorers inspected their landing craft today and declared it “shipshape” for a daring bullseye landing on the craggy surface.

Nov. 19, 1969

— Winchester is probably the fastest growing urban community in the state outside the Louisville suburban communities of Shively and St. Matthews. That’s the essence of a just-disclosed survey by Dr. W.A. Withington, a University of Kentucky geographer. The survey was conducted to determine the impact of limited access highways on both small and large Kentucky cities.

Nov. 20, 1969

— Final plans for Winchester’s fifth annual Christmas parade were reviewed at a meeting of approximately 35 persons representing many of the groups planning floats for the event.

Nov. 24, 1969

— Sales on the Winchester Tobacco Market opened strong this morning, although the quality of tobacco was not quite as good as that sold last year. Several baskets brought $77 per hundredweight and a number sold at $75 and $76.
