Christmas pageant at First Christian

The children and youth ministries will be featured during the 10:45 a.m. service Dec. 8 for the second Sunday of Advent at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 24 E. Hickman St. They will present a Christmas pageant based on the gospels of Matthew and Luke and special music by the children. Nursery care for children from infant to 5 years begins at 9:15 a.m. Bible study for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and traditional worship service at 10:45 a.m. Holy communion is offered, and all are welcome to the Lord’s table. Anthem Trio at Liberty Bible COG

Liberty Bible Church of God, 6615 Veterans Memorial Highway, will host the KMBC Anthem Trio in concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

New study at Ruckerville Church

Ruckerville Church of Christ, 3784 Old Ruckerville Road, will study Luke during December by reading one chapter a day. Services are at 11 a.m. Sundays with Bible study at 10 a.m.

Christmas bazaar at Winchester Community Church

Winchester Community Church, 125 Franklin Ave, will host a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Serving lunch, which includes choice of homemade chili or vegetable soup with sandwich for $5. There asked will also be baked goods including peanut butter roll, pumpkin roll, fried pies, candies, cakes, pies and more. There will be lots of gifts and decor items, including homemade, new and gently-used items.

Services at Salem Church

This week at Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, Pastor Don Stanley continues his series of Advent sermons on “The Songs of Christmas” by sharing some insights into the Angel Gabriel’s song. Worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m.

Services at Forest Grove Christian

Worship services at Forest Grove Christian Church, 4733 Old Boonesboro Road, are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible study and youth groups meet at 6 p.m. Sunday worship service is broadcast on local cable channel 378 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.

Services at Liberty Bible Church of God

Food pantry at First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., operates a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry is open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.

Services at First Presbyterian

Worship services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Adult, children and youth Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 a.m. downstairs. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. There will be a potluck at 11:30 a.m. following the service. All are welcome. Wednesday night services include Spirit Quilters at 5 p.m., learn how to quilt and help create prayer quilts for ill or grieving congregant; handbell choir meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and the choir meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. The Wesleyan Church of Winchester Christmas Concert

The Wesleyan Church of Winchester presents The Lore Family Gospel Singers in concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Shearer Elementary School, 244 E. Broadway. Supper will be provided following the concert.
