Downtown grant funds available

In September 2019, Main Street Winchester released a suite of matching grant programs to incentivize investment in downtown.
Funds for upper story residential, façade and new business grants are available.
In January, the organization exhausted funding allocated for roof stabilization grants for the current grant cycle. Roof stabilization grants will be available when the next grant cycle begins on July 1.
To date, Main Street Winchester has awarded five roof stabilization grants, two upper story residential grants and one façade grant.
In total, approximately $280,500 will be invested in the district across the eight projects receiving matching grants.
For every dollar of grant funding, an additional $3.92 is being privately invested in the projects.
The grants are funded by the Downtown Development Investment Fund (DDIF), a public-private partnership contributed to by Beer Cheese Festival, City of Winchester, Clark County Community Foundation, Clark County Fiscal Court, Main Street Winchester, Winchester-Clark County Industrial Authority and a generous anonymous donor.
The DDIF and DDIF Grant Program are a direct result of the Winchester Downtown Master Plan.
The DDIF Grant Program will be available for three years. Each applicant must meet strict criteria in order to receive a grant.
