Mary Elizabeth Morgan was born on November 7, 1931 in Louisville, KY to the late George and Ruby Farris.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend. In 1947, she met and married the love of her life, William Hershel Morgan, in Louisville, KY.

She loved to cook, read, organize her pictures and spend time with her family. She especially loved all the family “get-together.” Mom’s favorite book after the Bible was “Jesus Calling.” These provided her great inspirations daily. She always said, “God is SO good – ALL the time” and you would hear her say “God Bless You” to everyone she’d meet. Her desire was “to be a blessing to everyone for the Lord,” and she was.

Mary’s daughters lovingly called her “the little pink ‘Ever Ready’ bunny” because she loved to stay “casually busy” and kept “going and going.”

Mary loved God. She and her husband were saved in June 6, 1954 and she supported her husband as he entered the ministry in September 1954. When Mary’s husband stated he felt called to preach, she stated “where you go, I’ll go.” Mary was busy in the church until her later years performing any task that needed attention. She taught young children’s lessons, assisted in summer Bible School programs, singing in the choir if she wasn’t playing the piano, organized fundraising events and church family reunions along with other special events.

At fundraising bake sales for church missions, Mary’s Carrot Cake was auctioned and raised $300!!! That cake is still enjoyed by the family and has been added to their personal favorite recipes. Mary loved serving the Lord and being a witness for Him. Many have said, when God called her husband to Preach, He called Mary into the Ministry as well. She has been a great supporter of her husband in promoting the Gospel of God.

Mary had a beautiful smile, contagious laugh and as Madison, one of the great granddaughters, said, “great Mamaw gives the biggest hugs!” Her family and friends will miss her greatly. They know one day they will see her again in Heaven and it will be the most wonderful reunion.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Rev. William Hershel Morgan, parents, George and Ruby Farris, two sisters, Onie Dabney and Juanita Hiser, a brother George Farris, Jr. and one great granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Poole.

Mary leaves behind four children, William Hershel Morgan, Jr. (Vicki) of Winchester, KY; Elizabeth Ann McDaniel (Glenn) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Ronnie Lee Morgan (Carolyn) of Piqua, OH; and Judy Lynn Thomas (Stuart) of Winchester, KY.

Mary is also survived by eight grandchildren: Amy Morgan Henry (Donald); Cameron Morgan (Katie); Beth Morgan Cook (Mike); Keri McDaniel Monday (Chad); Kyle McDaniel (Trish); Lori Morgan Hill (Jeff); Brandon Thomas (Lauren); and Brittany Thomas Paquin (Douglas). Mary has 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Mary leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was a dedicated woman of God, and a great inspiration to others. She loved sharing God’s love for all. On February 4, 2020 at 1:50PM, the Heavens opened, and Mary entered her Eternal Home. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.
