The colors of love were on vivid display Thursday at The Craft Nook as employees of the store and helpers assembled cut flower arrangements.

“It’s really been busy,” employee Ashley Wells said. “We have taken 176 orders today.”

Virginia Witt, the store’s floral designer, who has worked at the craft store for 17 years, had extra help from some other workers hired just for the day.

At 4 p.m., Elizabeth Hendricks, who works in flowers at Three Toads Farm, and Neal Linville, who has worked at flower shops for 20 years, were helping arrange vases filled with red, white and yellow roses and other blooms.

“All four of us have been working here all day nonstop,” Linville said. “We’re staying busy.”

Witt said that the arrangements weren’t only for couples to give to each other, but many were for dances and other Valentine’s Day events.
