The Cards then went on a deep run in the state tournament, winning seven games in three days to finish in as the runners-up in the state tournament. Brady Davis and Cooper Wasson were both named to the All-State Tournament first team for their efforts in the run.

“It was an exciting season. All of our kids improved throughout the season and were able to win some games in the process,” Dwain Gay, head coach of the eighth-grade team, said. “I’m super proud of every kid in the program!”
