12th case of virus confirmed

Now there are 12.

The Clark County Health Department reported Monday afternoon that there has been a 12th confirmed case of COVID-19, or coronavirus, in Clark County.

The new case involves a 48-year-old woman.

Health officials are working with the Kentucky Department for Public Health to identify and speak with all those who may have come in close contact with her while she has been contagious.

Additional details about the person cannot be provided because of medical privacy laws.

Other cases have been a 73-year-old woman, a 54-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, two 49-year-old men, a 27-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman, a 72-year-old man, a 67-year-old man and a 60-year-old man.

Fifty-four new coronavirus cases reported in Kentucky Wednesday pushed the total past 1,000, with 59 deaths reported.
