Two killed in crash

A head-on crash claimed the lives of two men and injured another person early Tuesday morning.

The two drivers, 37-year-old Joshua Dye of West Liberty and 38-year-old Gary Brooks of Mount Sterling, both died in the crash on Boonesboro Road, Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said.

A passenger, who had not been identified at press time, was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, he said.

The crash was reported at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday.

Perdue said Dye was northbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe when it crossed the center line and collided with a southbound Dodge Dakota, driven by Brooks.

The incident is still under investigation, he said. The cause has not been determined.
