The Clark Count Health Department has received confirmation Monday evening of two additional positive coronavirus cases in the county, bringing the total number to 18.

One of the new cases involved a male, the other a female, but ages and other information was not readily available.

It was the first time the department had any new cases to report since last Wednesday.

“We expect to see additional cases as labs building capacity and more testing is available,” Rebecca Kissick, public health director, said. “The most important thing for all of us to do is to be #HealthyatHome and practice #SocialDistancing.”

Across the state, the number of cases surpassed 2,000 Monday, and the number of deaths exceeded 100. More than 600 have recovered, according to the Governor’s Office.
