Community blood drive helps boost supply
Blood donor James Covey of Winchester talks with phlebotomist Matthew McCollum of Kentucky Blood Center while giving during a blood drive Wednesday at Central Baptist Church. Staff members said donations are down because people are reluctant to give during the coronavirus pandemic, and many of the businesses and schools that usually host the drives are closed. By about 3 p.m., there had been 20 donors, but the blood drive was going on until 5:30 p.m. (Photo by Randy Patrick)
