Imogene Johnson Devary, 86, beloved wife of Herman Devary for 64 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in the presence of her loving husband.
A native of Trapp, Clark County, Kentucky, she was born on June 10, 1934, to the late Clarence and Alta Johnson. She was retired from GTE Sylvania, where she was an active UAW officer for the Local 1608, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was a seamstress who enjoyed sewing costumes for her children and grandchildren, wedding dresses and formal attire as well as baking and decorating event cakes for friends and family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Jean Devary and Shannon (Harry) Fiefhaus; two grandchildren, Alethea Dawn Devary and Jennifer Leigh Fiefhaus – Blankenship (Lee); two great grandchildren, Londyn and Scott Blankenship; sister, Ruby Patrick; several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Ada Borders, Earl Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Marlis Johnson and Patricia Neal.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, June 26, 2020 at Winchester Cemetery by Dr. Ed Mesta with burial to follow. Family will receive friends from 12:00PM until time of service.
