CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Robert E. McKnight, 65, of Ashland, was charged Aug. 4 with reckless driving and driving under the influence.

Reports

— At 6:14 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to 108 Calmes Blvd. after the caller found a purse and a change purse on the side of the road.

— At 8:04 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to Athens-Boonesboro Road for an injury accident involving a motorcycle. The operator and his son loaded the motorcycle into a pickup truck and left toward Lexington after refusing medical attention at the scene.

— At 6:36 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to 427 Calmes Blvd. after someone stole a handgun from a truck.

Accidents

— At 5:46 a.m. Friday, deputies were called to 3343 Lexington Road for a possible injury accident involving a person on a bicycle. The victim, James M. Pelfrey of Lexington, said he tripped after losing his balance and falling off his bicycle. Pelfrey was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

— At 8:35 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an injury accident near 719 Old Log Lick Road in which Jessica R. Wills of 595 Lillies Ferry Road said she swerved to avoid a rabbit and her vehicle went off the road and struck an object. A witness said the vehicle was weaving before it went off the road, struck a mailbox and rock, and overturned. Wills was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

— At 8:04 p.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Athens Boonesboro Road and Hootentown Lane.

— At 8:36 p.m. Thursday firefighters responded to an injury accident near 745 Log Lick Road.

— At 10:19 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to assist with a kitchen fire at 595 Market St.

— At 5:47 a.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at 3343 Lexington Road.

— At 8:18 a.m. Friday, firefighter responded to an injury accident near the 92 mile marker on Interstate 64.

— At 9:25 a.m. Friday, firefighters were called to 1535 Lexington Road for an investigation.

— At 11:26 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Boonesboro and Old Boonesboro roads.

— At 12:15 p.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Robyn Drive.

— At 5:48 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 2105 Mount Sterling Road for a smell of gas.

— At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 570 Van Meter Road for a smell of gas.

— At 8:01 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at 315 Aspen Lane.

 

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Corey M. Christy, 30, was charged Thursday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Brandon T. Thacker, 22, was charged Saturday with disregarding a traffic control device, no or expired registration plate and driving under the influence.

— At 8:15 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to 250 Runnymeade Drive after someone took a purse from a vehicle.

— At 10:49 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to 270 Runnymeade Drive after two pouches were taken from a vehicle.

— At 2:44 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to 1459 Rolling Hills Lane concerning an assault.

— At 2:51 p.m. Thursday, offices were called to Lowe’s, 1221 Bypass Road, concerning a stolen wallet.

— At 5:14 p.m. Thursday, officers took a report at the police department concerning a theft from an apartment.

— At 7:12 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 114 Fitch Ave. concerning a stolen pickup truck.

— At 10:04 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 1587 Bypass Road concerning a counterfeit $100 bill.

— At 2:07 p.m. Friday, officers took a report concerning a stolen wallet from a vehicle.

— At 8:52 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 40B N. Main St. concerning a theft from a debit card.

— At :37 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 76 Memorial Park concerning an assault.

— At 10:45 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 6 Wainscott Ave. concerning a theft of a safe.

— At 12:53 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to 118 Alabama St. for a report of shots being fired. Nicholas Shoemaker was cited for first-degree disorderly conduct.

— At 5:12 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 132 Strode Station Circle concerning a potential phone scam.

— At 12:34 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to 114 Olde Potomac Ave. concerning a stolen trailer.

— At 4:55 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to 508 Kiwi Drive concerning a theft of a washer and dryer from a storage building.

— At 10:48 p.m., officers were called to 1335 Dale Drive for a domestic disturbance.

Accidents

— At 9:12 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to an injury accident at 4 W. Washington St. in which Kim M. Smith of 12 Memorial Park said she was sitting in her parked vehicle when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. The other driver, identified as David J. Carie of 124 Sterling St., was unconscious when officers arrived. He was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center for a possible overdose.

— From Thursday through Sunday, EMS personnel responded to 61 general medical calls, five cardiac cases, two respiratory cases, three diabetic cases, one seizure, one stroke and two overdoses.

— At 8:05 p.m. Thursday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at Athens Boonesboro Road and Hootentown Lane.

— At 8:36 p.m. Thursday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident near 745 Log Lick Road.

— At 6:21 a.m. Friday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at 3343 Lexington Road.

— At 8:51 a.m. Friday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident near the 92 mile marker on Interstate 64.

— At 7:28 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at 304 Jackson St.

— At 11:26 p.m. Friday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at Boonesboro and Old Boonesboro roads.

— At 9:34 a.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 215 Winn Ave. for a smell of gas.

— At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 1400 Fortune Drive. It was a false alarm.

— At 12:45 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident near 620 Boone Ave.

— At 10:39 a.m. Sunday, firefighters were called to George Rogers Clark High School, 2745 Boonesboro Road, for a smell of gas near the construction site.

— At 10:14 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a structure fire at 27 Park Ave. There was a fire in one room and smoke and water damage throughout the house.
