The proposal on the Porter Place subdivision on Colby and Venable roads was made to the Winchester-Clark County Planning Commission Tuesday night, but there won’t be a decision on it until the board’s next meeting, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Planning Director Robert Jeffries explained that because of the coronavirus outbreak, the meetings are being held virtually, using the Zoom application.

After the board hears a proposal, it is tabled for 15 days to allow time to receive public written comment.

The comments may be emailed to planning@winchesterky.com or mailed to the Winchester-Clark County Planning Commission, 32 Wall St., or P.O. Box 40, Winchester, KY 40391.

The commissioners will review the comments and consider them for the next public meeting.

Jeffries said it remains to be seen whether the meeting on Oct. 6 will be an in-person meeting or a virtual meeting. If it’s an actual meeting at City Hall, it will probably be limited to 50 percent capacity to provide space for social distancing.

The owner-applicant is proposing 12 tracts ranging in size from 2.468 to 8.721 acres at 5609 Colby Road at the intersection with Venable Road.
