Betty Pearl Haggard Reed, 94, widow of Joe F. Reed, passed away on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A native of Clark County, Kentucky, she was born on Jan. 26, 1926, to the late Richard Allen Haggard and Sarah Quisenberry Childers.
She was a former member of the Clark County Hospital Auxiliary and the only surviving member of The Chatter Club.
Mrs. Reed was a loyal member of First Christian Church. She was a former Sunday School teacher, a faithful homemaker and a loving and devoted mother.
Survivors include her daughter, JoEllen Reed; first cousin, Dr. Dorothy Jean Quisenberry; nieces, Tammy (Dwain) Horn, Lorah Palmer, Aja Croteau and Erika (Sean) O’Brien; nephew, Jimi (Shelly) Castle; and BaBa’s special loves, Ella Shea O’Brien and Hagan Patrick O’Brien.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Marvin Reed.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at Winchester Cemetery at the gravesite by Dr. Jerry Johns.
Pallbearers will be Jimi Castle, Lee P. Kerr II, Sean O’Brien, Billy Vanicek, Patrick Codell, Will Codell, Billy Reed and Blanton Coates. Honorary pallbearers will be Jo Smith, Carolyn and Jimmy King, Mike and Rachel Reed, Paula and Wayne Joslin, Debbie Vaughan, Sharon Holland, Robin Murray, Dr. Larry Ertel and Dr. Richard DiNardo.
