Mamie LaVonna Adams Snell, 73, wife of David Henry Snell, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at Baptist Health, Lexington, Kentucky.
Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Watson E. Adams and Emma Gross Adams of Delphia, Kentucky.
She attended Leatherwood High School and earned a teaching certificate and advanced degrees at Eastern Kentucky University.
After spending a teaching career in Clark County Schools, she co-owned Country Charm Historic Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in Bourbon County.
She was a member of Antioch Christian Church (DOC), CCEA, KEA, NEA, the Bluegrass Retired Teachers Association, Bed and Breakfast Association of Kentucky, and served on the Paris-Bourbon County Tourism Board. She sold her embroidery crafts at the local farmers’ market.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Matthew) Baker; a grandson, four great-granddaughters, two siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St. Paris, Kentucky, by the Revs. Jeff Sames and Bob Mallory.
Burial in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.
