Lee Roy Davis, Jr., 81, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Lee Roy was born on March 15, 1939, in Winchester, and was the son of Dona (Conley) and Lee Roy Davis, Sr.

He served his country with honors in the US Army in Vietnam. After his service to his country, Lee Roy went to work as a Fish and Wildlife Officer for the State of Kentucky, and served as Clark County Jailer, later retiring from the Clark County Fire Department.

Upon retiring, he spent winters fishing in Okeechobee, Florida, and for the last six years made his permanent residence in Lake Placid, Florida.

He was of the Methodist faith, a Mason and member of Oleika Shrine Temple of Lexington, the VFW of Lake Placid and Vietnam Veterans of America, Highlands County, Florida.

Lee Roy was an avid sportsman and wildlife conservationist, creating wildlife plots for small wildlife as well as deer, quail and turkey on his farm.

He loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could be together, especially time with his granddaughter.

Lee Roy is survived by the love of his life of 56 years, Dorothy; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jody Stowers; granddaughter Alyssa Miley and a sister and brother-in-law, Elva and Shelby Harris, as well as several nieces and a special nephew, Keith Staton.

Services will be held at a later date in Clark County.
