Elizabeth Hayes “Betty Hayes” Humkey Nunan, 81, passed away peacefully Nov. 12, 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky.

A native of Winchester, Kentucky, Betty Hayes was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Kathryne Graves Humkey, Sr., born June 3, 1939, in Owensboro, Kentucky.

She was a 1957 high school graduate of St. Agatha Academy in Winchester, and a retired bus driver for the Clark County, Kentucky, Public School System.

Betty Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John F. Nunan, and her brother Robert G. “Bob” Humkey.

Her survivors include her children, Joe Oliver (Susan) of Winchester, Charles “Dickie” Oliver (Linda), Cindy Sparks (Matt), Patrick Oliver (Hilliary) and Amy Crum (Shane) all of Louisville; her grandchildren, Jessica Smith (Perez), Tim Oliver (Anna), Kelsey Oliver, Ryan Oliver, Kyle Oliver, Nick Sparks, Zack Sparks, Abby Sparks, Hannah Oliver, Conner Oliver, Will Crum, Maddie Crum, and Sam Crum; her great-grandchildren, Leila Smith, Toni Lynn Smith, Forest Oliver and Reed Oliver; her brother Charles (Mary) Humkey; and sister Kathryne Hazelwood.

Betty Hayes leaves behind an enormous legacy of laughter and love, as best represented by her children and their families. She was quick with a story, and always welcomed guests with an open-door policy to her home at 253 S. Highland Street in Winchester, Kentucky.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 21 at Scobee Funeral Home at 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester, KY.

Funeral Mass will be private at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.
