Two of the three people charged with a shooting between vehicles in 2018 pleaded guilty to amended charges Wednesday.

Grmyko Chenault and Alexssandra Chenault were both in a vehicle at the Tyler Banks Apartments parking lot on Jan. 31, 2018, when the shooting occurred. Police said there was an argument between the Chenaults and Armonty English and Temetrius Stewart, who were in a different vehicle.

Police said Grmyko opened fire and wounded Stewart.

Grmyko Chenault, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, which was amended from first-degree assault, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He was then sentenced to five years for assault and one year for each wanton endangerment charge. Judge William Engle ordered all the sentenced to run concurrently for a total of five years.

Alexssandra Chenault, 28, pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit second-degree assault, which was amended from complicity to commit first-degree assault. She was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail, with credit for time served.

English, who was also charged in connection with the incident, was not on Wednesday’s docket.

Police said English and Stewart fled the scene in their vehicle, but got into an accident on Lexington Avenue. Witness said English removed a gun from the vehicle and attempted to hide it.

Stewart was transported to the hospital, and his injury was not considered to be life-threatening.

English is scheduled to be in court Dec. 10.
