Harold Dwight Skinner, 69, passed away Nov. 26, 2020 at his home in Leander, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Karen Witt Skinner.

He was born Aug. 8, 1951 in Winchester, Kentucky, to the late Henry Butler and Oleta Stevens Skinner.

Harold served in the United States Marine Corps completing two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was hired by IBM Lexington, Kentucky, in the mid 70s, and was transferred to IBM Austin, Texas, in 1981 where he worked as Manager of Plant Security until his full retirement.

Harold was a faithful servant to the Lord, and belonged to a home group church led by Marc Scott. He was involved in many of the group’s community projects, especially those involving the elderly.

Survivors include daughters April (Raymond Dott) Skinner, Kayla (Danny) Kelsey, and granddaughters Madison and Avery Kelsey all of Texas; two brothers Rankin (Ruthi) Skinner and Donald (Roberta) Skinner all of Winchester, Kentucky, and one beloved aunt, Leta Rice of Richmond, Kentucky. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Harold.”

Harold’s love for his family and friends was legendary and his love for his granddaughters was especially precious to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William (Betty) Skinner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Dec. 19, 2020, in Leander, Texas, and will be open to all.
