Clark nonprofits raise nearly $360K in GoodGiving Challenge

Clark County nonprofits raised nearly $360,000 in donations last week, which will be elevated by matching donations from the Clark County Community Foundation.

During the annual GoodGiving Challenge, which ran from Dec. 1-7, 25 local nonprofits garnered $359,576 in donations from hundreds of donors.

Overall, 129 nonprofits from the Bluegrass Region garnered $2.39 million in donations.

Local nonprofits and their totals raised as of Dec. 7 are:

• Achieving Recovery Together: $10,766

• BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus: $17,356

• Bluegrass Heritage Museum: $17,214

• Clark County Community Services: $30,976

• Clark County Homeless Coalition: $35,576

• Clark County Youth Sports Association: $10,073

• Friends of Hemp: $3,708

• Friends of the Clark County Animal Shelter: $10,078

• Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties: $13,986

• Holly Rood: $5,330

• Hospice East: $5,797

• Leeds Center for the Arts: $21,989

• Legacy Greenscapes: $8,892

• LIFE for Pets: $9,543

• Marco Shemwell Foundation: $5,279

• New Beginnings of Winchester: $22,348

• Partners in Education of Clark County: $10,128

• Rose Mary C. Brooks Place: $10,337

• Rowland Arts Center: $14,288

• St. Agatha Academy: $18,617

• STRIDE: $50,483

• Swimchester Sailfish: $8,981

• The Beacon of Hope Emergency Shelter: $12,133

• Winchester-Clark County Farmers Market: $3,679.

Three Clark nonprofits were ranked in the Top 20 of all organizations for donations.

STRIDE, which provides recreational therapy opportunities for individuals with disabilities, was ranked third overall for donations.

Clark County Homeless Coalition, which offers housing and other services for homeless individuals to achieve stable housing, was ranked ninth overall.

Clark County Community Services, which provides services like a food bank, utilities assistance and other necessities to families in need, was ranked 14th.

All Clark nonprofits will have their donations matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 by the Clark County Community Foundation, and all participating nonprofits had the chance to earn other matching grants throughout the challenge, so final totals won’t be available until the CCCF distributes checks next year.

This is the 10th year for the annual online donation campaign, which has helped nonprofits in the region raise more than $12 million.
