Clark Regional Medical Center is ringing in the new year by announcing the arrival of its first bundle of joy.

Cheyenne and Anthony Curtis of Mount Sterling are the proud parents of a new baby girl, Raelyn, who was born at 10:28 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Winchester hospital.

She is 20 inches long and weighs seven pounds, two ounces.

“It’s awesome to have the first baby born in 2021 in Winchester,” the new mother said. “The physicians, nurses and staff at Clark Regional Medical Center all helped to make this such a special and memorable experience for us, and we are so grateful for the wonderful care our family received.”

The hospital’s Center for Women & Babies provides a complete program of medical, surgical and educational services for female patients. It offers prenatal care, private patient rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, “kangaroo” care, a method of a mother holding a baby that involves bare skin-to-skin contact, OB/GYN specialists Drs. Leigh Ann Doane, John F. Greene and Ramon Thomas and nurse practitioner Joanna Banks, CM, experienced labor and delivery nurses and lactation services.

CRMC’s Center for Women & Babies offers childbirth classes, and tours for expecting parents and are offered for free to anyone who is delivering at the hospital.
