According to public health guidelines, a county is considered to be in the COVID-19 “red zone” if it has an incidence rate of 25 or more, meaning 25 cases per 100,000 population. On Friday, Clark County’s incidence rate was 90.2, the highest it has ever been, according to Public Health Director Becky Kissick.

The county has seen an alarming increase in coronavirus infections. Between Monday and Friday, there were 161 new cases of the virus in Clark County, including 40 reported on Friday alone.

Since March, there have been 1,741 positive test cases. As of Friday, 317 of those remained active cases.
