Clark County has surpassed 1,900 COVID-19 cases and remains in the red zone with an incidence rate of 68.94 cases per 100,000 population, according to the local Health Department.

The county’s population in 2019 was 36,263.

The report issued Friday showed the county has had 1,916 cases, including 302 that were active. Eighteen people in the county have died of the virus, and 1,596 have recovered.

Last week there were 135 new cases in the county, including 40 last Monday, 22 Tuesday, 19 Wednesday, 18 Thursday and 36 Friday.

The Clark County Health Department is currently vaccinating frontline health care workers and first responders. Phase 1A also includes the following health and human service workers:

— All senior citizen service providers (Senior Citizen Center, Meals on Wheels, etc.)

— All mental health and substance abuse workers

— Pharmacy staff

— Bus/vehicle drivers whose job is to transport elderly to medical appointments

— Home health staff including aides

— All those who provide support services with direct contact with patients

— Dental office staff

— Social workers
