CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

• James D. Bryant, 39, of Mount Sterling, was charged Jan. 23 with reckless driving, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (two counts), driving under the influence, driving on an expired operator’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to produce insurance card, no registration plate and failure to wear seat belt.

• Joseph R. McCann, 35, of Old Ruckerville Road, was charged Jan. 21 with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.

• Candace Tucker, 27, of Campbellsville, was charged Jan. 21 with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and was served two warrants.

• Brittney Wallace, 25, of Mount Sterling, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence.

• Jody Conley, 38, of Stanton, was charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance and was served a warrant.

Reports

• At 5:26 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Ford Road after a person damaged the caller’s vehicle.

• At noon Friday, deputies were called to Oxford Drive after someone threw a concrete block through one window and a rock through another window at the caller’s residence.

• At 8:35 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Goshen Road concerning a stolen trailer.

• At 5:39 p.m. Jan. 21, deputies were called to Old Ruckerville Road for a domestic disturbance and assault. Joseph R. McCann, 35, of Old Ruckerville Road, was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.

• At 8:59 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Shell Mart, Van Meter Road, concerning a theft by a former employee.

• At 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to Jameson Way for an fight involving several people.

• At 5:26 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Ford Road after a known person damaged the caller’s vehicle.

• At 10:49 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to Lexington Road concerning a theft of automobile parts and a lift.

Accidents

• At 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Boonesboro Road in which Samuel Hensley of Waco was driving a truck and did not see stopped traffic in front of him as a vehicle waited to turn onto Clubhouse Drive. Hensley’s truck struck a van driven by James P. Clifton of Nicholasville. Clifton’s vehicle then struck a third vehicle, driven by Randy E. Petty of Milton, West Virginia, which then struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Gerald Atkinson of Mount Sterling. Clifton was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

• At 1:34 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a pallet fire on Tierney Way.

• At 1:45 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to an injury accident near the 2 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway.

• At 6:53 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a barn fire on Rosebud Lane.

• At 10:43 p.m. Monday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Woodford Avenue.

• At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Boonesboro and Fairfax roads.

• At 5:14 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road.

• At 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters assisted another agency with a call on Calmes Boulevard.

• At 7:16 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident near the 101 mile marker on Interstate 64.

• At 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on White Conkwright Road.

• At 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Ecton Road.

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

• Preston Daniel Gross, 32, was charged Tuesday with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving on a suspended operator’s license, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• William Brooks, 43, was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree assault.

• Alicia L. Wagner, 51, was charged Wednesday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reports

• At 10:07 a.m. Monday, officers took a report at the police department for a prior vandalism complaint on Oxford Drive.

• At 10:51 a.m. Monday, officers were called to Shoppers Drive concerning a theft from the caller’s bank account.

• At 11:17 a.m. Tuesday, officers took a report at the police department after someone broke into the caller’s vehicle on Saturday and took a number of items.

• At 12:18 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Stevenson Heights concerning an assault. No one was there when officers arrived.

• At 4:03 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Rural King, Bypass Road, concerning a theft.

• At 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Colby Ridge Boulevard concerning a scam.

• At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Fifth Street after a vehicle was vandalized.

• At 9:06 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to College Street concerning an assault. William Brooks was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

• From Monday through noon Wednesday, EMS personnel responded to 32 general medical calls, four cardiac cases, two respiratory cases, two seizures, one stroke and one overdose.

• At 1:45 p.m. Monday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident near the 2 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway.

• At 6:54 p.m. Monday, firefighters were called to Rosebud Lane for a report of smoke in the area.

• At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at Boonesboro and Fairfax roads.

• At 5:13 p.m. Tuesday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on Irvine Road.
