CLARK COUNTY  SHERIFF

Charged

•Noel K. Owens, 23, of Lexington, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

• Zachary Pelfrey, 29, of Lexington, was charged Jan. 28 with driving under the influence, failure to wear seat belt, disregarding a stop sign and careless driving.

• Charles B. Barrett, 66, of Crowe Ridge Road, was charged Jan. 30 with driving on a DUI-suspended operator’s license, alcohol intoxication, public intoxication and was served a warrant.

• Marty A. Swartz, 51, of Flanagan Street, was charged Jan. 30 with driving under the influence (second offense) and possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

• Brittany Barnett, 28, of Owensboro, was charged Tuesday with driving under the influence, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Reports

• At 10:30 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Cook Avenue after someone broke into a vehicle and stole a wallet.

• At 11:08 a.m. Monday, deputies took a report after a woman left her wallet in a buggy at Save-A-Lot, Ecton Road.

• At 2:19 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to Heather Lane concerning a theft of a checkbook and medication.

• At 4:15 p.m. Monday, deputies took a report concerning a domestic violence order violation.

• At 11:27 a.m. Monday, deputies were called to Cook Avenue concerning an abandoned vehicle.

• At 7:03 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to Hillcrest Drive concerning a possible attempted theft of a dog.

• At 3:21 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to Schollsville Road concerning a stolen trailer.

Accidents

• At 4:40 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Pretty Run Road in which vehicles driven by Tammy Vicker of Donaldson Road and Brenda Turley of Pretty Run Road collided head-on. Turley’s vehicle struck a mailbox before spinning and hitting a tree. Vicker’s vehicle struck a tree and wen through a fence into a cattle field. Turley was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

• At 7:45 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an injury accident near the 93 mile marker on Interstate 64 in which a vehicle driven by Noel K. Owens of Lexington went off the highway and over an embankment when it overturned. A passenger, Tonia R. Durham of Lexington, was ejected from the vehicle. Owens was arrested on multiple charges and Durham was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center before being flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with “severe” injuries.

• At 3:09 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Lexington Road in which Richard B. Myers of Oxford Drive was traveling west when another vehicle in front of him, driven by Kylie S. Garrett of South Burns Avenue, stopped to make a turn. Myers rear-ended the other vehicle. Garrett was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with a possible head injury. Myers’ passenger Katrina Bowman of Oxford Drive, was going to the University of Kentucky Medical Center to be checked.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

• At 2:30 a.m. Thursday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Crowe Ridge Road.

• At 5:21 a.m. Thursday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Inverness Lane.

• At 7:20 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a call-in emergency on Mount Sterling Road.

• At 10:38 a.m. Friday, firefighters assisted Winchester Fire-EMS with a structure fire on East Broadway Street.

• At 1:43 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident and rescue on Four Mile Road.

• At 11:24 a.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Ecton Road.

• At 4:42 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Pretty Run Road.

• At 5:39 p.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Calmes Boulevard.

• At 7:02 p.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Cunningham Lane.

• At 7:16 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding on Combs Ferry Road.

• At 7:43 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an injury accident near the 94 mile marker on Interstate 64.

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

• Juan Vasquez Medina Francisco, 42, was charged Sunday with no operator’s license, failure to maintain insurance, driving without a license, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle and driving under the influence.

• Candice J. Hall, 38, was charged Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Reports

• At 4:06 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to College Street concerning obtaining an emergency protection order.

• At 7:36 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to Enterprise Drive concerning a theft.

• At 9:59 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to Oxford Drive concerning a stolen firearm.

• At 12:32 p.m. Friday, officers took a report at the police department after someone broke into a storage unit on Bypass Road.

• At 6:55 p.m. Friday, officers were called to Spring Street concerning a stolen motorcycle.

• At 9:11 a.m. Saturday, officers took a report at the police department concerning an assault the previous night.

• At 8:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to Redwing Drive after someone made a number of unauthorized purchases with the caller’s credit card information.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

• From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday, EMS personnel responded to 56 general medical calls, five cardiac cases, nine respiratory cases, three diabetic cases, two seizures and seven overdoses.

• At 6:44 p.m. Wednesday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at the 101 mile marker on Interstate 64.

• At 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on Ecton Road.

• At 10:28 a.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a structure fire on East Broadway Street.

• At 1:43 p.m. Friday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on Four Mile Road.

• At 3:11 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding on Rolling Hills Lane. It was a false alarm.

• At 4:40 p.m. Saturday, EMS personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on Pretty Run Road.

• At 1:39 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding on Fifth Street. It was a false alarm.

• At 7:43 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident near the 94 mile marker on Interstate 64.
