Sterling Health Care of Mount Sterling announced this week it will open a new clinic in Powell County March 1. The office will be located in the former Powell Family Health building at 68 E. Elkins St. in Stanton.
The Powell Family Health practice is transitioning to Sterling Health Care. The providers remaining at the new clinic are Troy Brooks, PA-C and Sarah Crabtree, APRN.
“I look forward to our clinic becoming a part of Sterling Health Care,” Brooks said. “As someone who calls Powell County home, I believe their mission lines up very well with the needs of our community and this will help us provide many benefits for our people.”
The clinic will be bringing new benefits to patients in the area.
Because of Sterling Health Care’s commitment to treating a whole person, the clinic will now offer mental health services, the company said in a statement. The cost of lab tests will also be reduced because of Sterling Health Care’s partnership with Quest Diagnostics.
“We are eager to welcome Powell County to the Sterling Health Care family,” Tina Bryant, CEO of Sterling Health Care, said. “We are also looking forward to offering patients both expanded health services and a deep commitment to exceptional care, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.”
As a community health center, Sterling Health Care is dedicated to removing any barriers that prevent patients from getting the care they deserve, the company said in a press release. A progressive sliding fee scale and a dedicated community support staff help ensure the clinic offers the best care for a reasonable cost.
Sterling Health Care has provided school-based health services in Powell County schools since 2020, where students receive sick and well child visits without disrupting their school day. Additionally, students can obtain school and sports physicals when needed.
“It has been my goal to provide top quality health care for my community where I was born, raised, and continue to reside with my husband and children,” said Crabtree, who will be remaining at the clinic. “I am very excited to be joining Sterling Health Care, and it is my pleasure to continue to serve the people of Powell and surrounding counties.”
After the March 1 opening, clinic hours will be 8 a.m. – 6 p.m Monday through Friday.
To make an appointment, existing and new patients can call (606) 663-2511.
