Gerald Burkhart, Sr., 87, and Mamie Burkhart, 88
In celebration of the lives of Gerald D. Burkhart, Sr., 87, and Mamie F. Burkhart, 88, who would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on Feb. 16, 2021.Survived by two daughters, Shirley (Wally) Price, Cheryl Denham and a daughter-in-law, Linda Burkhart. Eight grandchildren, Chad (Amber) Burkhart, Mandy (Mark) Hounshell, Niki (Chris) May, Josh (Alicia) Price, Shelbi, Brice, Brooks and Brady Denham. Great Grandchildren, Dylan and Connor May, Aidan and Blake Hounshell, Cayden, and Finn Burkhart, Greenley, Joslin and Halsey Price. Gerald is survived by brother, Billy (Joy) Burkhart, sister-in-laws, Juanita and Ada Burkhart. Mamie is also survived by her sister, Claire Wampler.
Both were very active in their church, First Church of God until they became homebound. Gerald also served with their missions building team. Mamie attended First Church for over 65 years and was a past volunteer at Clark County Hospital.
Mr. Burkhart retired from IBM. Mrs. Burkhart worked at Sylvania before leaving to take care of family.
They both loved spending their winters in Florida.
They were preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bertha Burkhart and a stepmother, Relda Burkhart; her parents, Troy McCoy, Sr. and Dula Mae McCoy; a son, Jerry Burkhart, a grandson, Kevin Thomas Price and a son-in-law, Brian Denham. Also preceded by Gerald’s two brothers, a stepbrother and Mamie’s two brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Frank Curtis. Burial will follow in Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Crump, Asie Crump, Ralph Palmer, and Melvin Litteral.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
