Roads remain closed because of flooding

Three state roads remained closed because of flooding in Clark County as of 2:40 p.m. Friday.
The county experienced some of its worst flooding in more than 40 years, and nearly a week after the heavy rainfall of Feb. 28-March 1, a few state and country routes were still impassable.
According to the District 7 office of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in Frankfort, these roads were still closed:
– Mina Station, Ky. 1028, between mile points 0.0 and 2.0
– Athens-Boonesboro Road, Ky. 418, between mile points 4.0 and 5.0
Red River Road, Ky. 974, which had been closed between mile points 9.0 and 10.0 at 7 a.m. Friday, had reopened.
Roads in adjoining counties were also closed Friday morning, including one lane of Nest Egg Road, Ky. 646, at mile point 7.44 in Montgomery County near the Clark County line, because of a slide; Old Richmond Road in Fayette County between mile points 0.0 and 0.517 near the Madison County line; and several roads in Madison County, including parts of Redhouse Road, Ky. 388; Jacks Creek Road, Ky. 1156; Tates Creek Road, Ky. 169; River Road, Ky. 2328. In Madison County, parts of Crooksville Road, Ky. 499, and Union City Road, Ky. 1986, are open but have high water and warning signs.
