Help sought for victims of the flood
After the major flooding a couple of weeks ago, cleanup is continuing, and supplies are still needed. Also, if you’re able to help with the work, there’s always something to do.
Patricia Stewart-Hopkins is organizing flood relief volunteers, meal donations, appliance donations, and storing it at 1464 Amster Grove Road. They will be sharing beyond that neighborhood also, with delivery trucks going to other neighborhoods to disperse supplies and other donations.
There is also a companion Facebook page that is assisting with the effort to efficiently collect and distribute donations. You can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/485790929112840 .
Among the items that are still needed are air purifiers and dehumidifiers, appliances, work gloves, reliable contractors, and temporary housing assistance.
