Clark COVID cases reach 2,600

On Friday, the last day for which the daily COVID-19 report was available from the Clark County Health Department, the county had reached exactly 2,600 coronavirus infection cases. Ninety-three were active cases. There were only four new cases on Friday.

The incidence rate, which had been in the critical or red category for months, had fallen to 15.75 per 100,000 population by Friday, which puts the county in the orange or accelerated spread category.

On Wednesday, there were five new cases, and the incidence rate was 16.93.

It has been several weeks since anyone in Clark County has died of the virus. Deaths are currently at 22, and 2,485 have recovered.
