| On the morning of April 13, the world lost one of its kindest hearts as Elsie Marie Mathews passed away at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Hospice. Elsie 67, a retired accountant professional, and proud alumni of Eastern Kentucky University, is survived by her husband Johnny N. Mathews, and her son, Eric Mathews.
On Dec. 22, 1953, Elsie was brought into this world by her parents Johnny and Opal Bush in Beattyville, Kentucky. She made her home in Winchester, Kentucky, for 46 years after marrying Johnny in the summer of 1975. In addition, she leaves beloved family members: brother, Danny (Cleta) Bush; sister-in-law, Pat (Jerry) James; brother-in-law, David Alan Mathews; nieces, Lisa Bush, and Micah James; nephews, Tony Bush, Justin, and Preston James. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Vincent Carman. Burial will be at Boonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Scobee Funeral Home. |
