Carmilla Jean Smith Hewitt, 80, passed away on Monday, April 26th at Pine Meadows Nursing Home, Lexington, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hewitt of Michigan; the father of her children, Paul Banks, of Michigan; her mother, Mildred Smith Shrout; her father Roy Smith; step-father, Clyde Shrout; 4 brothers, Glynn (Louise), Jimmy, Gary & Johnny Smith; 3 sisters, Lenora (Bob) Shafto, Billie (Bill) Lawson & Anita Hawkins. She is survived by one daughter, Paula (Jeff) Elam; 4 sons, Lenny (Debbie) Banks; Ron (Michele) Banks; Gary (Dawn) Banks; Mike (Chelsea) Banks; 4 granddaughters; 8 grandsons; several great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Brenda (Larry) Bowling; Lavern Jones & June Wolfe and one sister-in-law, Debbie Smith. Memorial services are planned for a later date.
