Winchester’s City Hall, located at 32 Wall Street, is holding a Memorial Day remembrance event on May 31 at noon.
The names of the 119 Clark Countians who gave their lives for their country from World War I through the Korean War will be read, followed by a striking of the bell at city hall.
Captain Andy Bender of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Reserves will attend as a guest speaker. Also participating are the girls and boys scouts of America.
In addition to the aforementioned events, the remembrance will see a singing of the National Anthem and a playing of TAPS.
“I would hope the community would come out and honor these individuals,” said Mayor Ed Burtner. “If you’re unable to make it to the event, I ask that you pause and remember the brave men and women who died serving our country.”
