Rock the Block continues despite weather

Despite the downpour, vendors and visitors alike persisted through the weather to take part in Main Street’s Rock the Block event Saturday, June 11. As the sky cleared, the musical performance by The Ranahans went on as scheduled.
Rock the Block is Winchester’s annual musical series, taking place on a day in June, July, and August. Typically the event coincides with the Beer Cheese Festival, but that even had to be postponed due to COVID-19.
As the heavy rain gave way to a light spray, visitors came out to partake in enchiladas, deserts, and of course, beer cheese. By around 6:30 – 7 p.m., the rain finally ceased, and Lexington country band The Ranahans were able to perform at the courthouse steps by 8.
Vendors were stationed at the Parklet on 7 North Street by 5 p.m., offering snacks, as well as custom-made goods and CBD products. Rock the Block continued through to its 9 p.m. closing.
