A man was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center Wednesday afternoon following an accident on Maple Street involving a motorcycle.

David Durham was discovered face-down and suffering from a contusion on the left side of his head and abrasions down his back. His motorcycle was located beside Dollar General, lying on its side.

Multiple eye-witnesses state that at approximately 3:36 p.m., Durham lost control of his motorcycle after hitting the nearby railroad tracks going south. Durham reportedly attempted to regain control, but was thrown from his bike, landing where he was found. Durham’s motorcycle continued before coming to rest beside Dollar General.

One witness stated he was in front of Durham as he went over the tracks, and it appeared to him that Durham was attempting to change lanes as he was going over the tracks. Durham was not wearing a helmet upon officer arrival and one was not observed in the area.

EMS arrived with officers to treat Durham prior to his airlift. He arrived at the University of Kentucky Medical Center at approximately 4:43 p.m. His condition is unknown at this time.
