Rene Blaine Redmon, 69, of Richmond, KY, husband of Pamela Crouch Redmon, died at his home Wednesday, 23 September 2021, from complications of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was born 4 February 1952, in Greeneville, TN, to the late Willie J. and Mabel Schubert Redmon.
He was member of Landmark Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church in Wartburg, TN. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He continued his government service as a civilian at Blue Grass Army Depot, retiring with 35 years of service. He was a true patriot and credits the U. S. Army with the training and base for starting his government career. He retired as a Project Officer, Special Operations Forces Support Activity, a position which he truly enjoyed and loved.

Prior to his illness, he was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing – a legacy he leaves to his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed all sports and played most of them at various times throughout his life. He loved college football and was a loyal Tennessee Volunteers fan.
Rene was a true warrior as he battled pulmonary fibrosis for 11.5 years to the amazement of all, including the medical community. Average life span from diagnosis is 3-5 years.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife, Pamela; his two sons, Michael Douglas ( Melissa) Redmon and Robert Benjamin (Kimberly) Redmon; four grandsons, Payton, Hunter, Logan and Preston Redmon; a step-granddaughter, Lindsey Highley; a brother, Ronald Dale (Susan) Redmon, of Greeneville, TN; his “favorite” niece, Brandy Redmon (Nick) Shelton, Greeneville, TN; a nephew, Brian (Rachel) Redmon, Greeneville, TN and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Presly Redmon.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, 28 September 2021 at Leon Pace Memorial Chapel from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 29 September 2021, at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at 1:30 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Payton, Hunter and Logan Redmon, Nick Shelton, Drew Shelton, Keith McDermott, Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Redmon, Lindsey Highley, Brayden Shelton.
