The Winchester Police Department wants to reunite recovered stolen money and commemorative coins with their rightful owners.

Sgt. Alex Belcher of the Winchester Police Department said an ongoing investigation into stolen catalytic converters in the area last month turned up the money and clothing taken from local retailers.

So far, 15 individuals have called to say that the stolen property belongs to them.

Belcher advised Winchester residents to document their most valuable items with photos or video. If the items are ever stolen, the owners will have documentation to help local law enforcement with the verification process.

Anyone who recently had money or coins stolen and has the proper documentation may call Sgt. Belcher at 859-745-7414.
