Bruce Allen Barnett, 62, of Lexington, died in his home on September 30, 2021 due to complications from cholangiocarcinoma cancer treatment and a liver transplant.

A Winchester native, Bruce was the son of Ethel (Potie) and Clark Barnett. Bruce graduated from George Rogers Clark High School and University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Bruce impacted the lives of thousands of students as a teacher in San Diego and over 20 years at Bryan Station Middle School where he taught art and coached the girls’ basketball, golf, volleyball, and track teams. Bruce was a talented artist, filmmaker, and photographer. He enjoyed golfing with friends, gardening, and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Most of all, Bruce was a devoted father to his beloved son, Quinn. They enjoyed watching movies, eating cookies, visiting the water park, and hanging out. Bruce attempted, without success, to pass along his love of golf to his son. In addition to Quinn, Bruce is survived by his sister Betty Clark Barnett Stocksdale of Charlotte, NC, two nieces, and many cousins.
