George B. Campbell, 72, husband of Rosemary Hackett Campbell, passed away peacefully on Thursday,
October 21, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

George was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Benjamin and Ila Blevins Campbell. After serving in
Vietnam, he returned to enroll in Georgetown College where met the love of his life, Rosemary.
Together, they celebrated 47 years of marriage and have two sons, Jeff (Ashleigh) and Chris (Lindsey).
George also loved playing with and spoiling his four grandchildren, LauraKate, EmmaClaire, Molly and
Louisa. George leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. He
is also preceded in death by his half-brother, Richard (Marjorie) Gibson.

George was a proud United States Army Veteran. After returning to civilian life, he continued as a civil
servant with the Department of Defense, where he eventually retired as the Chief of Operations Division
for SOFSA at Bluegrass Station. His passion for serving others and supporting both past and active
military members led him to become a co-founder of Honor Flight Kentucky where he remained very
active as an Ambassador and Flight Coordinator.

Faith was a cornerstone in George’s life, and he was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Catholic church where
he played guitar for Sunday Mass. An avid golfer, he loved hearing the early morning sound of a drive
squarely hitting a tree trunk. He was also a model train enthusiast and was very proud to have his
“toys” and model layout recently featured in Model Railroader magazine.

Family will receive friends to celebrate George’s life from 5:00-7:00PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at

A funeral mass for George will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Saint Joseph
Catholic Church by Father Frank Brawner. Burial will follow in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
