The city of Winchester will begin its fall leaf pick-up on Monday, Nov. 15.
There will be collection units designated explicitly for the north, south and west sides of town. No dates are currently scheduled for specific streets, but the units will make complete sweeps of the city, weather and equipment permitting until all leaves are gone.
Public Works Director Patrick Clark said that the units will not deviate from their assigned routes or backtrack.
City residents should rake all leaves to the utility strip in front of their homes. They should not rake the leaves into the streets to avoid clogging storm drains and leave all leaf piles debris-free as not to damage the City’s equipment. In addition, the City requests residents not leave vehicles on the curb in front of or behind any piles.
Residents with questions should call Winchester Public Works at 859-744-3253.
Correction: The print edition of this story incorrectly stated that leaves should be raked into the streets to avoid clogging storm drains. A printed correction will run in Friday’s paper.
