This weekend, the team will take part in the King of the Bluegrass Tournament, beginning with a game
against Lake Highland Prep (6-0) – an out-of-state team from Orlando, FL. In this battle of undefeated
teams, the Cardinals will take on one of the top-ranked teams in the state of Florida. With them having
won their six games by an average of 20 points, and the Cards having won five games by an average of
27 points, it figures to be their most evenly matched competition yet.

Girls Basketball:
The Lady Cards have had three games in the last 10 days, going 2-1 in the process. In a nail-biting 46-45
loss to Tates Creek (1-4) last Tuesday, Brianna Byars led the way with 21 points while Amber Miller had 8
of the team’s 35 rebounds. Following their narrow defeat, they bounced back with a dominant 58-24
win against Mason County, and an equally impressive 71-50 win against Great Crossing.
From Saturday through Tuesday, the Lady Cards will participate in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic.

They’ll begin with a matchup against Boyd County (3-1). As last year’s 64 th District Champions and 16 th
Region finalists, the Lady Lions figure to be stiff competition.
