The inmates at the Clark County Detention Center got some holiday cheer thanks to a group of private donors.
Dale Hatton of Dream Maker Realty, Steven Caudill and Amber Fields from Achieving Recovery Together, and other donors purchased the pizzas on Thursday.
“This is something that I started last year,” Hatton said. “I believe Christmas should be a time for mercy and love. I plan on continuing this tradition if possible.”
The detention center’s Sgt. Kerry Pelfrey delivered the pies to the inmates.
So far, Hatton has received nothing but positive feedback.
“I have had family members of inmates message me saying their family member wanted to say thanks,” he said.
The donation will hopefully provide light during personal dark times.
“I believe we must strive every day to lift up others, especially when they are at their lowest point,” Hatton said.
