Barbara Jean Pritchard Hopper, 78, wife of Leon Buckner Hopper, passed away peacefully and Jesus carried her to her heavenly home on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born in Murphy, North Carolina, on August 10, 1943, to the late Bill and Ruby Gibson Pritchard. Barb enjoyed vacations at the beach and spending time with family and friends so much!! Her home was open to everyone, as she shared her love with everyone she met.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, her son, Jason L. Hopper; daughter, Sharma (Fred) Brown; three grandchildren, Derek (Becky) Brown, Jonah Hopper, Shelby Hopper; one great granddaughter, Mila Hopper; siblings, Betty Jo Hopper, Jim (Dianne) Pritchard, Delores (Dale) Segress, Billy Pritchard, Patricia Grissam, Terry (Judy) Pritchard, Danny (Dee) Pritchard; one sister-in-law, Diana Pritchard Vest, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dale Pritchard; brother-in-law, Donnie Hopper; sister-in-law, Lynne Pritchard.

Although we know Barb is in her heavenly home with Jesus, we will miss her immensely. To know her was to love her.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00PM Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel at Scobee Funeral Home by Allen Hutchinson. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Pritchard, Austin Ratliff, Brett Lomax, Joey Hopper, Drew Hopper, and Zachary Pritchard. Her brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
