Andrew Bentley is a fourth-generation herbalist who has been practicing and teaching for over 30 years. Recently he has made detailed clinical observations related to herbal support in COVID-19 cases.

Bentley will share his thoughts Jan. 29 on staying well (and improving overall health) in the current time, when the COVID pandemic meets the ongoing challenges of a changed food system.

In the past five years, Laura Freeman has joined together a local distillery, a hemp company, and a restaurant which centers on Mt. Folly pasture-raised beef.

The founder of the international company Laura’s Lean Beef, 2022 marks her 45th year farming in Clark County. Her daughter Alice, an infant when she started the organic beef company, is now running the restaurant and bar at Wildcat Willy’s Distillery. She is working to bring her own interest in community skill building to the mix with this lecture, the first in a series.

The mother-daughter duo’s goal for the lecture series is to build community resilience through old-time
skills and knowing each other.

Future presenters include Hunt Priest, Episcopal priest and Executive Director of Ligare, whose family is from Mt. Sterling, KY; The Next Apocalypse author and Lexington, KY professor Chris Begley, whose books and teachings have reached a national audience.
