BIG things are around the corner for the Parks and Rec Department.

First, WCCPR nonprofit Friends of Parks and Recreation 501(c)(3) is partnering with the local ELKS lodge as one of their nonprofits to host a charity breakfast March 5th from 7-11am at the ELKS lodge location on Shoppers Drive.

Full breakfast buffet spread for $8 cooked, served and hosted by the ELKS lodge with profits going to Friends of Parks and Recreation. WCCPR LOVES its Elks partner and would love to get them some attention – they do this for multiple local nonprofits! If you think it pertinent, mention that they are cash-only for this event if anyone is planning on attending.

Friends of Parks and Recreation 501(c)(3) is funding an exciting new program at Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation. This program partners with the local preschool, Clark County Preschool, to teach swim lessons to all preschool children, effectively teaching them life-saving skills at a young age!
This pilot program begins March 7 for the first class of the “Swim at the Gym Splash Class”! WCCPR plans to host a small graduation ceremony for the kids at the end, March 18.

“We also hope to expand this service to other preschools, private schools, and even homeschoolers in the future,” said Tiffany Fletcher, WCCPR marketing director.
