Jerry Elmo Fryer, 81, of Fairview Heights, IL, born Friday, April 12, 1940, in Springhill, LA, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Jerry was a co-owner and a structural engineer for Buell, Fryer, McReynolds Inc. in Lexington, KY. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, IL and Head Deacon at Central Baptist Church in Winchester, KY. He was a huge University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved golfing. Jerry and Ann traveled all over the United States with the Niemeiers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Elmo and Annie L., nee Domino, Fryer.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Ann nee Madden, Fryer of Fairview Heights, IL; children, Jeff (Margaret) Fryer of Greensboro, NC, Angie (Rick) Jessup of Bossier City, LA, Mark (Ann E.) Fryer of Collinsville, IL and Todd Fryer (Jennifer Coombs) of Belleville, IL; brother, Paul (Tonia) Fryer of Calhoun, LA; grandchildren, Mitchell (Brittany) Fryer, Danielle (Nick) Taylor, Peter Marsden, Livia Marsden, Lily Marsden, Kate Fryer, Grace Fryer, Caleb Fryer, Lillie Fryer, Seth Fryer, Jacob (Destiny) Coombs, Jason Coombs; great grandchildren, Miles Coombs, Sadie Fryer, Andre Fryer and Trevon Fryer; best friends, Betty & Mike Niemeier.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Dr. James Kerr officiating. Private family interment.
